Record just the part of your screen that matters, straight into the shape a platform wants, with your camera pinned inside it.

What's new

• Record a region of your screen — draw a rectangle on any display and record only that. A thin frame shows where the edges are and never appears in the file. Move the region while you record and the video follows.
• Ready-to-upload formats — pick 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, or 16:9, 1:1 and 4:5, right in the picker. OneTake frames the recording in that shape as it records, so nothing is cropped or thrown away afterwards.
• Your camera, pinned to the region or filling it — turn the camera bubble on with a region armed and it sits in the region's corner and moves with it. Fill region makes the bubble the region itself, and you can switch it on or off in the middle of a take: a talking-head Reel, then back to the screen, without editing.
• Record your camera directly — choose a camera as the source and record it at the camera's own frame rate, no screen involved. Mirror my camera decides which way round you appear, for the bubble and a camera recording alike.
• Decide how a move lands — Instant follows your hand, Glide eases the recording over in one smooth pan, Snap cuts to it. Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Arrows nudge the region from the keyboard, mid-take too.

Improvements

• The frame, your way — solid, dashed or dotted, 2 to 8 px, and a colour with its own opacity for armed and for recording. Reset puts back the default.
• The region selector remembers your last region and opens with it already drawn, at once.
• The bubble's controls stay available while you record, and a hotkey cycles its shape: card, square, circle, fill.
• Controls that cannot apply say why instead of disappearing.

Fixes

• Sound and picture line up in every player. The built-in recorder's video starts a fraction of a second after its audio, and some players, Windows' among them, played the picture that much early. Takes now begin on their first frame, and snipped exports keep every piece in sync.
• Crash reports now carry the real version number.

Good to know

• A region records less of your screen in the shape you chose; it is not a frame-rate setting. Fewer pixels can mean a smoother file, but that is a measurement on one machine, not a promise.
• In a dim room most webcams lower their own frame rate to gather light. So does Windows Camera.
• On macOS, updates are a manual download until the app is signed and notarized.
• On Linux, region capture needs an X11 session (the default), not Chromium's Wayland backend. System audio is still Windows-only.
